Ancient Mesopotamian Stars & Planets Tablet 3D Model
This tablet listing the names of the stars and planets is made of unbaked clay. This tablet is a lexicon, a simple listing of names of all known stars and planets in Mesopotamia around the year 2750 BCE. It was probably written by a young school student who was learning to memorize this list. The double marks that you see that appear to be ditto marks are exactly what they appear to be. The ditto was used in ancient Mesopotamia to avoid repetitious writings of the same word, just as we use the ditto in the modern day.
Date: 2750 BCE
