More model informationThis ancient sluice was discovered in 1931 just east of Pevensey Haven in the Pevensey levels. It was discovered by workers during the construction of a roundabout for the new A259 motorway. The sluice was initially thought to be a longboat due to the similar use of trenailed timbers along cruved ribs. Report and images for the reconstruction courtesy the Bexhill Museum.
