More model informationThis beautifully carved piece of stonework depicts an angel holding a book. Carved from limestone and dating to the 14th century, it would have been suspended beneath an ornate canopy in the east end of the church at Hailes Abbey. The square shaft would have joined to the stone structure above. If the canopy was built over a tomb, the angel would have looked down over the individual buried beneath.
