The Jewel Circle Court Gown was worn by Rebecca Davies (Mrs. Armin Smith) in 1957. The dress was designed by Ann Lowe.
The dress is made of cream colored silk satin with a sweetheart bodice that’s ornately decorated with strands of grey beads and small pearls that form intricate twisting vine forms and flowers. The vines and flowers continue throughout the dress, including on the skirt and the sleeves. Sheer layers of light blue netting line the top of the bodice as well as the train. The lining is made of cream colored synthetic faille. The bodice is lined with an inner boned corset. There is a half-circle cream colored silk satin train attached to the gown at the back of the waist. (Background information compiled by Rachel Donaldson, Henry B. Plant Museum intern, 2019).
The dress was scanned with the Artec Eva, and processed in Artec Studio, Geomagic Wrap and Zbrush at Access 3D Lab.
