Anthropomorphic lid in the form of a bird

A clay anthropomorphic lid with a handle in the form of a bird was found in 2006 during excavations on the territory of Kolomyitsiv Yar in the Kyiv region. It represents the pottery traditions of the Trypilians of the 2nd half of the 5th millennium BC. Such lids were mainly used to cover pear-shaped vessels. Their anthropomorphic form embodied the image of the Great Goddess, who was often depicted with horns. So the lids had small projections - horns on the edges.

Антропоморфна покришка з ручкою у вигляді птаха, V тис. до н.е.

Глиняна антропоморфна покришка з ручкою у вигляді птаха була знайдена у 2006 році під час розкопок на території ур. Коломійців Яр. Вона представляє гончарні традиції трипільців другої половина V тис. до н.е. Такі покришки використовувалися переважно для накриття грушоподібних посудин. Їх антропоморфна форма втілювала образ Великої Богині, яка часто зображувалася рогатою, тому і покришки по краях мали невеликі ріжки.
