The Nahavand inscription, 2th century BC, National Museum of Iran, Tehran The Greek inscription was discovered accidentally in Do-Khaharan, Nahavand, Iran in 1943.
It suggested the existence of a Greek temple. Based on the translation of the Greek inscription, the temple was built during the reign of Antiochus III (223-187 BC), in the place then known as Laodicea.
