More model informationVintage metal kerosene oil lantern with glass globe and star bottom, c. 1930s. This artifact is from the Giunta Homestead, a National Register of Historic Places site and Landmark site in Tampa, Florida. It was digitized using structured light scanning and imaging. This is a No. 30 E lantern with the USA embossed on the globe. A large star is imprinted on the bottom of the lamp base. The E stood for Embury Manufacturing Company. The company was from Rochester, NY, and sold lanterns to many outlets, including SEARS. The SEARS lanterns are embossed with ELGIN but are otherwise the same model. After 1953, the company was sold to Dietz, who moved manufacturing to Mexico.
