Αγαλμάτιο θεού ή ήρωα, ίσως του Απόλλωνα

Η μορφή με το δόρυ στο δεξί χέρι δαμάζει άγριο ζώο (στον τύπο του «δεσπότη θηρίων»). Προέρχεται από τη διακοσμητική επένδυση κάποιου επίπλου ή άλλου ξύλινου αντικειμένου. Άριστο δείγμα τέχνης της Μικράς Ασίας με έντονη ανατολική επίδραση. Β’ μισό του 7ου αιώνα πΧ.

Statuette of a deity or hero, perhaps Apollo

The figure with the spear on his right hand is taming a wild animal (in the “master of animals” pose). It was decorating some piece of furniture or wooden object. A fine example of the art of Asia Minor with strong oriental influence. Second half of the 7th century BC.
