Archaeological human mandible #16 - Syria

The item represents a mandible (inventory #16) from a human adult originally buried in the Al Rastan tombs in Syria and possibly dates from the Roman period. Authorization to investigate this material has been approved by the Directorate-General of Antiquities & Museums (DGAM) in Syria in 2022.

Research on this artifact is being conducted as part of a project overseen by Dr. Kévin Salesse (MUNI) and Dr. Houmam Saad (DGAM). The photogrammetry 3D model was created by Dr. Mikoláš Jurda and Mgr. Ondřej Kvarda (MUNI). The anthropological study was performed by Dr. Arwa Kharobi (MUNI).
