Area B, Khirbat al-Jariya, Jordan3D Model
Area B is the largest building at Khirbat al-Jariya, centrally-located at the highest point of the site. Elites at Khirbat al-Jariya likely supervised copper production across the site from this central vantage point.
This building contains evidence for a number of ritual processes that suggest that high-status individuals lived and worked here. In particular, the ceramics found in this structure have been instrumental for understanding the role of elites at Khirbat al-Jariya in managing copper production and exchange.
