Erected in 1996 and located at the intersection of Monument Avenue and Roseneath Road in Richmond, Virginia, this statue commemorates Arthur Ashe, one of the most significant African American figures in tennis. The Arthur Ashe monument is the first of the large statues that characterize historic Monument Avenue when heading east. Learn more about the history of Monument Avenue here!
The Monument Avenue documentation project is a collaborative effort between the Fairfield Foundation and the Virtual Curation Laboratory at VCU. The models were generated using a Phantom 4 Pro quadcopter and Agisoft Metashape photogrammetry software.
