More model informationA medieval (C12th-C13th) cross in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels, Arthuret, Cumbria. The small border town of Longtown is nearby and lies within the parish of Arthuret. The design of the cross with incised decoration is considered to be quite unusual.
What caught my interest was the attempts stabilise the cross. Iron clamps were inserted in the 19th century, since when further damage has occured, then in 20th century a welded and bolted steel cage has been added to try and keep the cross head on the shaft.
