Soil erosion Asphalt crack Slop mulch Blown ash Wooden facility Soil erosion is a major problem for environment just as shown in the photo that the footpath is formed due to over engagement of human activity and lack of vegetation covering. This area is obviously degraded due to erosion. The key principle in preventing or reducing erosion along creeks is to maintain good ground cover over the surface of the banks which reduces contact between falling rain or floodwaters and the banks. It is the simplest and most natural way to prevent erosion control through planting vegetation. Plants establish root systems, which in turn, stabilizes the soil, preventing erosion. The roots of vegetation growing along and on top of the bank also help to reinforce the soil and reduce the erosion rate, while vegetation growing within the creek channel can also slow water flow and trap sediment.
