What happens when you give one of F1’s all time great designers freedom to design the track car of his dreams? This, basically. It’s the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro, the track-only version of Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing’s highly anticipated hypercar, and it’s one of the wildest things on four wheels. Aston teased us with some stats at the Geneva Motor Show today, and they’re almost beyond belief. For starters, the Valkyrie AMR Pro exceeds its road-car counterpart’s one-to-one hp-to-kilogram ratio with over 1100 hp pushing around 2200 lbs (1000 kg). But thanks to a more aggressive aero package, the Valkyrie AMR Pro will be able to generate 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 as well as its energy-recovery system. Top speed in its high-downforce configuration is 225 mph (!), and the Valkyrie AMR Pro is capable of generating over 3g of cornering grip. The price? It doesn’t matter. Aston’s only going to build 25 Valkyrie AMR Pros and they’re all sold. Deliveries for those chosen few are set to begin in 2020.
