Atlas is a compact, spherical robot featuring an advanced locomotion system, designed by Aperture Science for testing cooperative chambers. Its design melds a minimalist white chassis with smooth curves and high-tech detailing. A single, large blue optical lens—serving as its distinctive “eye”—dynamically conveys emotions through subtle animations. With agile limbs and flexible joints, Atlas navigates test environments with ease, operates a portal gun, and tackles complex tasks in tandem with its counterpart, P-Body. Despite its mechanical appearance, Atlas exhibits lifelike gestures and a playful demeanor, making it not only an efficient test subject but also an endearing partner in GLaDOS’s scientific experiments.
