Attic Black Figure eye cup Tomb R2

This Attic Greek Black Figure “eye cup” (kylix) was discovered in 2019 in Tomb R2, at the necropolis of the Vallone di San Lorenzo in Montecchio (TR), Italy. Note the images of Dionysus seated with his drinking horn framed by large eyes and satyrs, as well as dolphins under the handles and another satyr in the tondo. This is attributed to the “Leafless Group”, and is late sixth/early fifth century B.C. in date.
