August Treboniu Laurian (1810-1881), on his real name Augustin Trifan, was one of the leaders of the 1848 Revolution in Transylvania. He was also a founding father of the Romanian Academy (1867) and he started the first Romanian historical magazine together with Nicolae Bălcescu (1845).
