Australopithecus garhi CraniumYour model is disabled. For more details go to Edit properties3D Model
Australopithecus garhi lived in Eastern Africa approximately 2.5 million years ago. Only a portion of the cranium for this species has been recovered, which explains the considerable amount of missing material (purple). This is the only fossil of this species found to date, it was discovered in 1999 at the site of Bouri, Middle Awash, Ethiopia.
Getting accurate measurements for this cranium is difficult due to its fragmentary nature, but it would have been within the range of other Australopithecines. The cranial capacity for this species is approximately 450cc.
