The axolotlpede, or the noctitextoris, is a carnivore that primarily preys on smaller insects, worms, mollusks, and other smaller axolotlpedes. They can average around 61 cm (24 inches) in size and can rage from a variety of colors. Axolotlpedes are mostly found in areas of high humidity or near bodies of water. However, contrary to common belief, the axolotlpede can not breathe under water but can submerge themselves for up to an hour at a time before needing to resurface. They can be rather slow in the water relying on their dorsal frills to propel them but on land they have been known to travel at speeds up to .91 meter (3 feet) per second. The average human can run around 5.3-6.7 meters (18-22 feet) per second
Fun Fact: The axolotlpede can regrow its legs and even some of it’s body segments if damaged. But it can’t regrow its head.
