3D Model
3D scan of a frozen Southern three-banded armadillo, also known as Azara’s domed armadillo (Tolypeutes matacus). These animals live in South America and can be found in Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. They can be as long as 25 centimeters and weigh up to 2 kilograms. It is the only armadillo species that can roll up into a complete ball, as shown in this 3D model.
This particular armadillo was mounted by our taxidermists to be part of the sepcial exhibition “Brazil” (2022-2023).
