A Teller-Ulam device aka a thermonuclear warhead, used on cruise, sub-launched and land based missles. Variable yield of 20 to 750 kilotons. Dimensions: length 75 cm, width 34 cm, weight 98.7 kg. The first stage (primary) is a Swan device employing laser actuated slap detonators, octanitrocubane high explosive lenses and a copper flyer plate. A U-235 tamper/pusher and a Pu-239 levitated pit boosted with tritium gas produce the first stage fission reaction. The hohlraum case is U-238 and the interior wall is Gold plated. The primary case and pit jacket are stainless steel. The second stage (secondary) tamper/pusher and sparkplug is U-235. Li-6 and 7 deuteride provide the deuterium and tritium fuel for the fusion reaction in the second stage. The reflectors and the neutron shield are Beryllium. The interstage component Fogbank not shown for clarity. External components e.g. tritium container, arming, fusing, and firing assemblies et al not shown in this model. Created with Blender 2.90.1
