Description

The Brutus is an American wheeled self-propelled howitzer system mounting the M777 155mm cannon on a commercial truck chassis. This unique configuration combines the firepower and accuracy of the lightweight M777 howitzer with the mobility and rapid deployment advantages of a wheeled vehicle. The system maintains the M777’s titanium construction and digital fire control capabilities while adding shoot-and-scoot functionality and improved strategic mobility. The vehicle carries 18 ready-to-fire projectiles and can achieve rates of fire comparable to the towed M777 system, providing a cost-effective mobile artillery solution.
