This seed pod has a hidden story. Its narrative is embedded in a capsule body. A geological deep time of stored memory, intelligence and an enduring will to survive.
The Banksia seed story is of great resilience, it takes time in developing and maturing. A plethora of florets twist together after many months forming its shape. The seeds inside the capsules can take up to a year to mature and some will only react to very high temperatures in order to open. Falling onto fertilised ash, they are ensured a better chance of growth. A time capsule awaiting patiently for the right moment.
