More model information

“This species is maroon to pink, with the opening of the barrel pale white.

Specimens are often found emerging from an apparent common base. In the intertidal zones, this species ranges from 10 to 20 cm in diameter, and are about 10 to 20 cm tall.” - Wikipedia

This barrel sponge was located on the southern side of the coral garden known as Siete Pecados off the coast of Coron, Philippines. The pictures (76) were taken with a GoPro Hero 3+ with 12 megapixel/wide settings and were not corrected for their barrel/fisheye distortion. Afterwards the photos were resized using Image Resizer.

The sparse/dense clouds were created using VisualSFM, and imported into Meshlab where the dense cloud was cleaned and a Poisson mesh was generated, followed by texture mapping.
