More model informationThe decorative ironwork on the church door in Barsebäck has been dated stilistic by Lennart Karlsson to the romanesque period arond 1150. The carpentry craft and toolmarks has now been dated by me to the later half of the 12th century. Then Hans Linderson has dendrochronologically dated one of the oak ledges on the door to after 1165, most plausaible to the period 1175-1195. The three boards are of pine, and most probably imported pine. Unfourtunately the boards are fastgrown and not suitable for dendrochronological analysis.
The door is 244cm high and the width is 94 cm. Photography and model: Karl-Magnus Melin
