More model informationThe Basin Stone dates from the Neolithic and is located within the passage grave (ME019-045----) at Newgrange, Brú na Bóinne, Co. Meath, Ireland. This basin stone is situated in the east recess within the tomb. Other basin stones were found in the west and north recesses of the tomb. It is made of granite from either Newry or Wicklow and is chiselled all over (inside and out). it has two circular depressions - 20cm and 45cm in diameter. The basin is 1.2m long and 1m wide.
