More model information

This 3D mech model was the first model I had ever made in Maya. Though I had a bit of past 3D modeling experience from slight use of other programs, I had virtually no knowledge of how to use any part of the Maya toolset. I only knew how to edit the attribute options of the basic primitive shapes Maya provided (cubes, spheres, cylinders, etc.), as well as how to use the move, scale, and rotate tools. The instructor challenged us to create something with nothing but this knowledge we had learned on our first day. I knew that I wanted to go all out, and see how far I could push this idea. When I was little, creating mech designs like this was one of my favorite hobbies, and I decided to try and create something similar to those drawings in 3D. It took a lot of create thinking, but I think it turned out nicely.

Later, once I had had a bit more experience with Maya, I came back this model and cleaned up the inside faces, as well as gave it some texture. Overall, it was a pretty fun experience.
