More model informationThe first International Exhibition, or World Fair, ran from May to November, 1862, in London, England. Thousands of objects were displayed, showcasing the latest technologies in art and manufacturing, from clothing and jewelry, to industrial machinery like locomotives and water pumps. Around six million visitors attended. The buckle features the Exhibition building, with the opening day of May 1st, and a small globe in each corner representing the four cardinal points. The buckle, from Timmins Martelle Heritage Consultants Inc., reminds us of our global connectivity. It was found north of Putnam, Ontario.
