All that remains of the kennels believed demolished in the 1970s. No photographs or other records are currently known other than an ink and wash drawing on cartridge paper, inscribed on the reverse ‘Elevations of Pidgeon House and Dog Kennel, Belton/May 1819’. The west elevation is shown to scale of one inch to five feet. Signed Jeffrey Wyatt and dated 20th May 1819 (Sir Jeffry Wyattville (Burton on Trent 1766 - London 1840, architect). The image shows some of the construction building material of these kennels located at the north west corner of Old Wood. This is well away from the Mansion, distance and wind direction-wise, so the occupants wouldn’t hear the barking!
