Gloucester Building Recording Group - Church Bench project. St James Church Quedgeley and Kingsway. Carving of the bench end. Bench seat has saw marks that indicate timbers were sawn on a trestle, which means that are likely to have been cut before 1540. Dendrochronology dating of the timber samples (carried out by Tree-Ring Services) indicate a felling date of 1497 to 1528.
