The Murry Bay wreck has been misidentified multiple times as the Dreadnaught , Granada, and Arnold. The best guess now is she is the 136 ft two-masted schooner Bermuda. The Bermuda was built in 1860 and sailed her early days in the grain trade between Lake Michigan and Ontario. Later she was moved to Lake Superior to haul iron ore mostly from Marquette. How the Bermuda ended up in Murray Bay is a long story but started with her sinking in Munising Bay in 1870 seeking shelter from a storm. She was raised and moved to Marquette where she sank again then finally raised and moved to Murray Bay where she again sank and settled on the bottom where the ship now rests. Today the site is in the Alger Underwater Preserve and is a favorite for glass bottom boat tours, kayakers, snorkelers and divers. The model was created from 2,325 30 Megapixel images shot in the 2023 season.
