Betsy Cabinet Shelf (VCU_3D_3312)3D ModelNoAI
This shelf board was part of a China cupboard in the captain’s quarters on Betsy (44YO0088), a British ship sunk during the American Revolution. The remains ofBetsy were in especially good condition, providing the opportunity to gather data on eighteenth-century ship construction and furishings (Broadwater 1992:39). It was part of a fleet of vessels that were scuttled by the British in 1781. See John Broadwater 1992 Shipwreck in a Swimming Pool: An Assessment of the Methodology and Technology Utilized on the Yorktown Shipwreck Archaeological Project. Historical Archaeology 26(4):26-46. It was 3D scanned with a Go!Scan 50 on February 23, 2018. Because of the fragile nature of this conserved object, one side that laid against a flat surface was not 3D scanned.
