Wooden sheave from Betsy shipwreck, 44YO0088. located within the York River, off the coast of Yorktown, Virginia. The remains of Betsy were in especially good condition, providing the opportunity to gather data on eighteenth-century ship construction and furishings (Broadwater 1992:39). It was part of a fleet of vessels scuttled by the British in 1781.
