Bielsk Podlaski – Góra Zamkowa (Łysa Górka) and the castle Between the Biała River and the Lubka River, there is a medieval stronghold, locally called “Łysa Górka” or “Castle Mountain”. This is the site of an original defensive stronghold, which dates back to the 12th century. This is an artificial mound, 7 m high, There was a stronghold with a wooden and earth structure. The first mention of it comes from 1253. In the 1420s, these lands were taken over by Lithuania. In 1408, Jogaila handed the town over to Vytautas. In 1564 castle burned down due to a lightning strike.
