More model informationThe Birnam Oak is a relic of Birnam Wood and is found in a strip of woodland on the south bank of the River Tay. Famous for its mention in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, this oak might be ~500 years. It is the tallest ancient oak we have scanned and one of my favourites so far
The SCATTER project was funded by the Woodland Trust & carried out by researchers from UCL with logistical support & ancient oak expertise from The Ancient Tree Forum.
When visiting ancient trees, please be respectful to these living legends and their custodians.
