This Bismarck Tower is situated near Aachen on the “Ehrenfriedhof”. A calm cemetery to commemorate the fallen of World War 2. The tower itself is one of 173 still standing Bismarck towers worldwide which were constructed by the German Empire to commemorate the founder of the German state, Otto von Bismarck.
The tower is 27 meters high and contains 3 arched portals above which are busts of Otto von Bismarck (Chancellor of the German Empire), Helmuth von Moltke (Chief of the General Staff), and Albrecht von Roon (Minister President)
The dataset capture took place in early Winter 2022.
The dataset consists of 900 images shot with a Sony Alpha A7R III and a DJI Mini 2. Development of the RAW photos in Darktable. The dataset has been processed in Reality Capture. Retopology using Instant Meshes and lots of manual cleanup in Blender. UV unwrapping with RyzomUV. Baking of texture maps in Knald. Texture Processing in Krita.
