Blood vascular system of Alligator head

Head blood vessels of an American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis, OUVC 9757) based on injecting the vessels of a cadaveric alligator with an injection medium consisting of barium and latex. This injection was performed in 2003. The specimen was scanned at the OUµCT in March 2013 by Ryan Ridgely & Lawrence Witmer. Findings drawing on this specimen were originally published in 2016 by Porter, Sedlymayr, & Witmer (https://bit.ly/2JZ1zOR), and the specimen was more recently included in a 2023 Young et al. article that included Witmer (https://doi.org/10.7717/peerj.15353).
