The maker’s mark on the bottom of this earthenware plate is representative of both the maker and design pattern for the piece. “Baker” refers to Baker & Co., a British ceramics manufacturer that worked out of Staffordshire throughout the 19th century. Meanwhile, “Willow” is in reference to this particular East Asian-inspired scene on the front of the plate.
