Bluefin Tuna

3D Model

As part of our exam in 3D modeling I, we are currently modeling an underwater scene in which there are two characters; a bluefin tuna fish and a sea horse.

The main goal is to get familiar with good workflows in sculpting softwares such as 3D Coat, as well as keeping silhouettes, basic shapes and composition in mind.

This time around, I may have gone a little overboard with the bump-map. I just could not help myself, I had to see how far I could go with a simple mesh. It was a very conscious choice, however, as the audience will be spotting the fish from a distance in the final composition.
