Boa Island - Statues 3D Model
In Caldragh Cemetery on Boa Island, Lower lough Erne (Ireland) stand two unique stone carvings. They have been placed beside each other on unrelated pillars in the graveyard.
The larger of the figures is the Boa Island ‘Janus-figure’. It is called a Janus-figure because it has two faces, reminding some of the Roman two-headed deity Janus.
The second figure, often called ‘Lustry Man’, was discovered in an erly Christian graveyard on Lustymore Island nearby. It was brought to Boa Island in 1939.
