Bosatsu (Bodhisattva) is a being who, while still in training to attain enlightenment and become a Nyorai (Tathāgata), bestows worldly blessings upon people. This statue was created using a solid-casting technique with front and back molds, and it is unplated. Due to long burial in the ground, its surface has corroded, making the facial features difficult to discern. The figure wears a crown, a tenne (long draped cloth), and a mo (skirt). Dwellings and a cremation grave from the same period have been discovered nearby, suggesting a possible connection between them and this statue.
