More model informationThe Bumbo Latite is part of the middle Permian Gerringong Volcanics and is well exposed in the old quarry at Bombo headland. The latite is a thick flow and the upper surface is not exposed at this location. The base of the flow is in contact with the underlying Kiama Sandstone. The contact surface is highly variable from a relatively uniform quenched surface at the southern edge of this image (left in the initial view), to highly discrupted at the northern end where is forms a mixed zone of peperites formed by interaction of the lava with underlying water saturated sediment. This model was generated from drone images gathered by a wizard technical staff member.
