More model informationA (relatively) low-poly model with the normal maps of a higher-poly version projected onto it in order to add detail without having the full complex object.
I made a shape inspired by a chakram (specifically the Thorn Chakram from Terraria) but made it a little bit more of a spooky themed weapon since we’re still in the Halloween season.
Most of the grooves in the object are not actually there and are just from the normal map! This was a cool process that I can definitely see the advantages of for 3D modeling for games or animations where keeping poly count low is important.
