This is a cross section from a long bone to demonstrate the lamellar organization of the histological bone material. This model is to demonstrate concepts and relationships and is not built true to life scale; some of the lamellae have been shaded with different colors to make it easier to see them individually. The interstitial lamellae systems have NOT been included in the model to emphasize where they are located between the osteons.
