Boudelo excavation (2012) - WORK IN PROGRESS

3D Model

This 3D model is an attempt to visualise the 2012 excavation at the Boudelo abbey site (Klein-Sinaai, Belgium) (Ghent University). It combines several image-based 3D recordings, documenting the most important features and units at the site (e.g. excavation surface, soil profiles, individual features and archaeological samples).

The image-based 3D reconstruction research was published and discussed in Journal of Archaeological Science (2013), while the archaeological and geophysical research were published in Scientific Reports (2013).

The model will be updated with:

• Geophysical data

• Environmental data

• Annotations

NOTE: Sketchfab does not allow me to upload better textures (the file is too big).
