This tiltbrush drawing was inspired by an illustration that the young CS Lewis made between 1906-08. I wanted to make the drawing come to life and allow a viewer to step into the scene and be immersed by the image. Translating an early 20th century sketch into a 21st century virtual environment was a challenge. I had to not only place the figures in their space, but then invent the surrounding environment and experience for the viewer. The drawing shows four figures sitting at a set table, inside a cabin of a working ship. The vessel is floating in a port near a pier and surrounded by clouds.
