More model informationBraeside is and Orkney-Cromarty type stalled cairn. The chamber is rectangular and divided into three sections by two pairs of large stone orthostats. A long slab marks the back of the chamber.
The tomb was reputedly excavated by James Farrar in the mid 19th century, but on one orthstat ‘J H’ is nearly carved in large letters, which may indicate the involvement of the landowner, Robert, J. Hebden. For more information see CANMORE: http://canmore.org.uk/site/3143
