Broken up Canal boat Cayuga Lake

Mapping Cayuga Lake in November of 2024 we picked up a number of sonar tagets. We did not get a chance to check them out until June 5th of 2026. This one turned out to be a Canal boat broken up in a number of pieces. It sets on a ledge that drops off the starboard side of the vessel. The Canal boat is in 66 feet of water and if it came to rest just a few feet further out in the lake it would be resting in over 300 feet of water.
