A White Painted Ware Cypriot juglet dating to the Middle or Late Bronze Age, 1800-1450 BCE.
The upper body of this small handmade juglet is decorated with a frieze filled with a three line zigzag pattern, the neck with parallel horizontal bands, while the base is divided into four quadrants, each with a dot within. The juglet has a height of 78mm.
The juglet is on display as part of the ‘Cypriot Pottery of the Bronze and Iron Ages’ exhibition of the Hellenic Museum of Melbourne, and is on loan from the Peter Mitrakas and Mary Ann Savas collection.
