This handmade string hole handle features a beaked spout at the end of a long neck with two string holes either side. The body is decorated with a varied network of linear motifs within panels, while the neck is painted in parallel bands. The string holes may have been used to hang the juglet. The juglet has a height of 135mm.
The juglet is on display as part of the ‘Cypriot Pottery of the Bronze and Iron Ages’ exhibition of the Hellenic Museum of Melbourne, and is on loan from the Peter Mitrakas and Mary Ann Savas collection.
